About Us
Rooted in Central Massachusetts, serving the region for the long term
Tracing its roots to Worcester in 1988, Advantage Benefits Group specializes in managing employee benefits for companies that don’t have the luxury of a full-time human resources staff.
Whether it’s precision manufacturing, plastics, medical devices, mechanical or professional service firms, we typically work with companies of 20 to 250 employees and serve as their out-sourced experts for benefits management. Today, more than ever, companies need to focus on what they do best. You know it, and we know it, because that’s what we do. And by working with Advantage Benefits Group, it leaves you more time to focus on your core business.
Our Principals
Vanessa Costa, principal and co-founder of ABG
Vanessa has an extensive financial services background. While still in high school, she helped her father prepare tax returns and provide bookkeeping services for small businesses. After earning an accounting degree from Assumption College, she worked at a CPA firm, then as a commercial lending officer at a local bank, combining her strength in financial analysis with an understanding of new business development.
Vanessa began to specialize in employee benefits in 1988, and is an expert on all aspects of benefits plans and management. She holds the professional insurance designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (CFHC).
Bill Randell, principal and co-founder of ABG
Bill brings to the practice of benefits management extensive experience in the insurance components, as well as personal experience in growing and managing small businesses.
Bill earned his bachelor’s degree at Boston College, while working alongside his father in the family business, seeing first-hand the needs of the entrepreneurial environment and the challenges of managing a small business. After graduating, Bill focused his own career on insurance and employee benefits management.
Bill holds the professional insurance designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (CFHC).
